How are my chances at getting into these colleges?
junior in high school, 4.54 GPA (3.96 unweighted), class rank 6/1200 students (with a shot at being salutatorian if I could pull off straight A’s this semester), and I will take ACT/SAT this spring (took other tests that predict a 32ish ACT score)
I live in the Chicago suburbs and am a white female. I will be the first person on my mom’s side of the family to go to college.
I have been on the tennis team all three years so far (and play at a club outside of high school season), was captain of the badminton team freshman year, and am very involved with Student Council (Representative Freshman year, Committee Chair for the past two years, 4+ meetings week). I have been volunteering at the hospital every week since the summer after Freshman Year (and plan to do so until the end of senior year). I work as a tour guide in my town 6 months out of the year and plan to do this again next year. I am also going to serve as a youth representative on one of my town’s boards or commissions.
In my spare time I design and construct jewelry. I also follow sports and have been a life long fan of a few teams.
I know my activities and interests are pretty random and they don’t really show passion for one area. That’s because I’m really not sure what I want to do because I have such a wide range of interests. However, I have been involved with almost all of these activities for quite sometime and genuinley enjoy all of them- they aren’t just some random things I picked up so I could throw it on my applications.
