Bringing down prices of expensive colleges?

hawkeye1003 asked:

i’m a junior in high school, 4.54 GPA (3.96 unweighted), class rank 5/1200 students (with a shot at being salutatorian if I could pull off straight A’s this semester), and I will take ACT/SAT this spring (predicting about a 1470 reading & math SAT/33 ACT)

I live in the Chicago suburbs and am a white female. I will be the first person on my mom’s side of the family to go to college.
I have been on the tennis team all three years so far (and play at a club outside of high school season), was captain of the badminton team freshman year, and am very involved with Student Council (Representative Freshman year, Committee Chair for the past two years). I have been volunteering at the hospital every week since the summer after Freshman Year (and plan to do so until the end of senior year). I work as a tour guide in my town 6 months out of the year and plan to do this again next year. I am also serve as a youth representative on my city’s Transportation Advisory Board.

In my spare time I design and construct jewelry. I also follow sports and have been a life long fan of a few teams.

Freshman Year:
Honors Biology
Honors World History (studied on my own and took AP World History test and got a 4)
Honors English
Honors Alg II/Trig
3D Art & Ceramics
Spanish II

Sophomore Year:
AP European History (got a 5)
Honors Chemistry
Honors PreCalc
Honors English
Business Orientation
Jewelry
Spanish III

Junior Year:
AP English Language
AP US History
AP Environmental Science
AP Calc BC
AP Statistics
Honors Physics

okay my main question is, with all of this is- if i were to apply to ivy league schools, stanford, university of north carolina, duke, georgetown, exc., and i got in (i know this is not guaranteed or even very likely- i’m just saying if), do you think i would be able to get enough money/scholarships to bring down these prices to a level semi-comparable to instate tuition of university of illinois? (family income about 100,000) this may be a stupid question, i don’t really know.

Chances at getting into?

I know my activities and interests are pretty random and they don’t really show passion for one area. That’s because I’m really not sure what I want to do because I have such a wide range of interests. However, I have been involved with almost all of these activities for quite sometime and genuinley enjoy all of them- they aren’t just some random things I picked up so I could throw it on my applications.
